FY2021–2023
Commissioned research

Practical antenna evaluation technology for the 300 GHz band

Research under the NICT Beyond 5G R&D Promotion Program (seed-creation program, JPJ012368C04101). Jointly with 7G aa Inc., an AIST spin-off, we developed antenna near-field measurement for the 300 GHz band.

FY2024–2025
Commissioned research

Photonics-based millimeter-wave / terahertz material measurement system

Under the FORWARD program of Japan's Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, we developed a material measurement system spanning millimeter-wave to terahertz in the frequency domain. Where THz-TDS is the common tool for terahertz material measurement, we developed a so-called THz-FDS: it extends below 100 GHz, offers high frequency accuracy, and opens applications in terahertz imaging.

We aim for early deployment and welcome measurement needs and proposals from industry.

Feb 2025
Delivery

VNA-alternative system delivered

Delivered to the Research Center for Development of Far-Infrared Region, University of Fukui. Covering V-band (50–75 GHz) and W-band (75–110 GHz), it realizes millimeter-wave S-parameter measurement in a low-cost configuration.
