Organic nonlinear optical crystals such as DAST and OH1 are key materials for terahertz-wave generation and detection — but they are notoriously difficult to process: hygroscopic (no water-based machining) and easily cleaved. Through the in-house development of our 300 GHz-band EO sensor probes, we have established growth and processing techniques for these crystals, and we offer DAST/OH1 growth as well as cutting and polishing as a service. Our EO sensor probes for antenna measurement use nonlinear optical crystals as the sensing element, adopting organic materials such as DAST and OH1 depending on the application. To reach the 300 GHz band (wavelength ~1 mm), we developed crystal growth and processing in-house and established the manufacturing workflow. This is not a capability packaged for resale — it is technology honed to make our own products perform.

We will assess feasibility after hearing about your application and research; in some cases we may not be able to accept a request. As these are difficult materials, we cannot guarantee crystal performance or specifications, and for yield reasons we may ask to deliver samples in multiple pieces.
We continue to optimize growth and processing conditions for DAST and OH1. This crystal technology also underpins our electric-field visualization and sub-terahertz antenna near-field measurement.
